Under morgonen kunde vi presentera den finska forwarden Samuel Salonen till lagbygget. Samuel är en poängstark forward och vi tog ett snack med honom kring tankarna inför kommande säsong.

Tell us about your background as a hockey player.

I played my whole youth career in Helsingin Jokerit till U20 and then I had one year in USHL in North Amerika. I have played Liiga in Pelicans, Tappara, Jyp and Jukurit. The latest two season I’ve represented my youth team Jokerit again for the goal to get back to Liiga and so we did. In the end of last season I also got a touch to Swedish hockey and Hockeyallsvenskan when I played for IK Oskarshamn.

How would you describe yourself as a player?

I think that I’m a really all-around player. I got a good Hockey sense, I work hard both sides of the puck, I have skill and a good shot that I like to use. I try to play the game the right way.  I feel my biggest strenght has always been my competitiveness and that’s the thing that drives me to play well and be better everyday.

What do you want to contribute with on the ice in Gränbyhallen this coming season?

I want to help the team win, that’s the main thing. I want to contribute offensively with goals and assists and defensively I want to be reliable so that I can be a player that you can put on the ice if we need a goal or defend ours.

Why did you choose Almtuna as your club for next season?

I had really good conversations with Jonas and Marcus and I feel that I have a lot of potential that I haven’t got out of me yet. With the great conversations, trust and belief we all had made me feel like Almtuna is the right place to take the next step for me.

What message would you like to send to everyone who is considering buying a season ticket?

Hope that many of you buys season ticket for next season so that we can have that 6th player feel on the Ice every home game. The team will be all-in the entire season and with your help we can have a season to remember and enjoy it together.
